Sizes and appliances

36mm serves basins, 43mm serves sinks, baths and showers, and 55mm handles larger or combined runs. Waste branches connect into the soil stack through a boss connection or branch fitting.

Why ABS

ABS keeps its impact resistance at the temperatures waste pipework sees behind a kitchen or in a ceiling void, and solvent-welded joints give a rigid, leak-tight connection in concealed runs.

Traps and seal depth

Every appliance needs a trap with an adequate water seal. In hot, dry conditions seals evaporate faster where an appliance is used infrequently — worth allowing for in villas and seasonal properties.

Frequently asked

What is the difference between soil and waste pipe?
Soil pipe carries discharge from WCs and urinals and is 82mm and above. Waste pipe carries discharge from basins, sinks, baths and showers and is 36 to 55mm. Both are in the Marley range and connect into the same stack.
What size waste pipe for a kitchen sink?
43mm is the usual size for a sink, with 36mm for a basin and 43 or 55mm for baths and showers depending on the run.
Can the waste range be used for AC condensate?
Yes. Reducer bushes and adaptors are available to take condensate lines into the waste system.
